Your patience is a warm hug to me Reader! Once again I skipped a month in staying in touch. If you noticed... thanks for being patient with me :). Between kids and their school, a husband and his chores, my life and work and health... It's just always a lot ya know! And it still rubs me the wrong way because if I could arrange my priorities, this is actually first and most fun. So, that's a whole thing. The one silver lining in all this is I am now in two study programs where I have an hour on Tuesday and an hour on Wednesday where it will increasingly make sense to doodle and sketch. Which means.... more YouTube videos! Being interesting to 100 subscribersAfter separating my art stuff from my business stuff on YouTube, my style evolved really nicely and I've just now brought 100 people into my little art space! Things are evolving... From Little Questions --> Tiny Doodles, going by sarag, starting to do different pop culture things I love in box spreads (aka Studio Ghibli and Twilight)... βClick here to check it out and subscribeβ Recording and publishing "shorts" comes easier to me than full videos right now, but I am learning. The main thing seems to be that videos require you to be interesting (lol). And interesting is hard for people who are trying to be healthy and normal, I guess. AKA It's hard to undo lifelong habits of NOT oversharing or having strong opinions in public, even though that's what many people like when they're looking at what to subscribe to. Anyway, part of the fun is trying to summon my weird closer to the surface. So. :) Next up, I will be tackling Frasier, ACOTAR, and a whole page of self-portraits. Let's see what sticks and pops! You can vote here if you feel strongly about what's next. Whatcha Been Journaling? No changes to my paper or pens right now. I'm selling pens off here and there, on the journey to refining my collection. I don't have a specific goal in mind, but "less" feels really good right now. I do see me continuing to experiment with inks, mostly by trading with friends. Currently InkedHere's what I've got inked up this month and what I'm rea: Birmingham Pen Co. Salt Water Taffy in a Silver M Pilot Vanishing Point Kyo Oto Cherry Blossom in a Black Matte M Pilot Vanishing Point Teranishi Opera Rose in a Sailor Winter Sky KOP Sailor Emerald Sea Glass in a LE M Pilot Vanishing Point Decimo Among others, naturally! Finishing the book of blue last month helped me discover some blues I love and reach for them more frequently, too. π β What are you working on? Sarah G. β β β β β β β β β β β |

You opening and reading this is a warm hug to me Reader! And I know a lot about warm hugs. The past few days, which is out of the ordinary for me, I've been at a small conference of about 10 folks who have a similar business to me. That kind of IRL kinship once again blew my heart wide open. So, my whole body hurts, but my heart is crazy full! I drew a couple of the people. I'll share it in the next note because I don't have a picture right now... Me at the conference about to do a little...
Heya Reader! This is my art letter. Anyways. Earlier this month I sent the last Stamp Fans note and then shut it down. It is so freaking meaningful to me that it will be missed β Thank you Kim, truly! (A magnificent experiment from this year) There's something really bittersweet about the...
